SR. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISOR (Human Services) – (This is not a human resources position) The mission of the Human Services Department is to promote and sustain activities that improve the quality of life for residents by creating coordinated, comprehensive and integrated systems of human services. Provides responsive, high-quality service to County employees and partners, representatives of outside agencies, and members of the public by providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information in a courteous, efficient and timely manner. Organizes and schedules department meetings and appointments as needed. Provides clerical support, prepares correspondence and prioritizes work. Accurately maintains multiple databases, assists in preparation of community training events, and prepares packets and records minutes of board meetings, as well as maintains office and supplies. Helps to write, proof, format and design information and graphics for presentations, publications and/or and web pages.  Helps to conduct research and data collection. Helps to facilitate the County’s compliance with monitoring of civil rights assurances.  Other duties as needed.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Services or related field; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
  • At least five (5) years of full-time experience as an executive or administrative assistant. Experience in public sector environment preferred
  • Proficient* in the Microsoft Office suite of products (specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license  
  • Must have reliable transportation (may be required to use  personal vehicle)
  • Ability to work both under supervision and independently
  • Knowledge of telephone, office and online etiquette
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish effective working relationships with a variety of individuals (to include management, colleagues, partners and members of the public) representing diverse cultures and backgrounds and function calmly in situations which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact and diplomacy
  • Reasonable working knowledge and understanding of the region, county and community and a basic understanding of the relationships among government, public, private, faith, health and academic organizations
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail when updating and accurately maintaining records and documents, reviewing and verifying information , and resolving errors and discrepancies discovered in the course of work
  • Ability to collect, compile, review and organize information in a logical fashion
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete a large volume of work within strict time deadlines

 

* Individuals considered will be given a practical exam to demonstrate their level of computer proficiency.
