ROADS & DRAINAGE and GENERAL SUPPORT ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERINTENDENT: Reports to Public Works Director and supervises administration and fields operations of the Roads & Drainage and General Support sections of the Public Works Division. Performs administrative tasks; manages data and serves as the front line for citizen interaction on complaints and requests for service. Coordinates daily work activities; ensures compliance with all applicable codes, rules, regulations standards, policies and procedures; develops and implements department budget; inspects and monitors drainage systems, oversees inventory; provides technical assistance and responds to emergency calls on a twenty-four hour basis.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Vocational/Technical degree with training emphasis in public works construction
  • Five (5) years previous experience and/or training that includes progressively responsible public works construction administration, drainage system construction/maintenance, project management, heavy equipment operator, supervision, and personal computer operations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency Microsoft Office and the proven ability to learn and use proprietary software packages utilized by the department
  • Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license, as well as a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements
