REAL PROPERTY RECORDS TECHNICIAN (Assessor): Under general supervision, performs routine work in the operation of a personal computer and clerical functions to maintain property assessment records for the Assessor’s Department. Also, assists the public with information relating to Real Property Assessments.



  • Associate’s degree in Business or Sociology OR three years of clerical experience
  • Strong public relation skills with the ability to assist the public by way of telephone, fax or office visit                
  • Strong computer background/experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word/Excel)
  • Basic communication, comprehension and math skills required




All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
