Title: Veterans Counselor - Veterans Affairs

Salary: $14.91 hr


VETERAN AFFAIRS COUNSELOR – Provides assistance to veterans and their family members to facilitate their receipt of veterans’ program benefits and services. Includes intake and case management work, assisting clients with completion of various forms and applications, and preparation and submission of cases to the Veterans Administration Regional Office and Board of Veterans appeals. Serves as an advocate for and as a resource to clients.



  • Veteran of the Armed Forces (must submit a copy of DD214)
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills (ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, database and other software)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid SC Notary Public or ability to obtain notary commission with six months of hire date


All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
