SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR III (IT Department): Performs network administration and planning for IT-network infrastructure, to include network equipment, servers, and software applications. Designs, implements, maintains and provides support for computer networks, communications systems and related components. Works as a team member with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. Maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems within the County. Evaluates, tests, and deploys all software and hardware upgrades to the networking infrastructure. Administers, installs and troubleshoots a variety of operating systems. Proactively monitors all network devices, services, and servers. Assists in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans. Schedules, installs, and tests system software upgrades. Strong knowledge of networking, such as TCP/IP, Vlans, switching, routing and routing protocols, and DNS. Configures software and resolves technical problems. Provides on-call support during non-business hours on a rotating basis. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Applicable industry standard certification required (For example VCP, MCSE, WCNA).
  • 8 years minimum experience in all phases of information technology processing to include working with Windows servers and network monitoring tools, administration of LAN/WAN systems and maintenance, hardware and software analysis, troubleshooting and support in heterogeneous computing environments.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Skills Needed:

  • Ability to troubleshoot quickly and work well under pressure.
  • Experience with general productivity and utility software, including Microsoft Office, web browsers, e-mail clients, anti-virus clients.
  • Experience with SCCM, Airwatch, MDM technologies, Palo-Alto, Virtualization, PXE, Imaging, AV, and Cisco
  • In-depth understanding of IP routing, configuration, baselining, basic application writing and scripts as it pertains to application management.
  • Knowledge of general wiring specifications.
  • Knowledge of hardware, software, operating systems and networking protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and positive attitude.
