REAL PROPERTY TRANSFER CLERK (Assessor’s Office):  Under general supervision performs routine duties in the operation of a personal computer for the purpose of transferring title onto the property tax rolls and creating new records. Assigns map and parcel identification numbers on deeds and plats. Verifies property ownership and processes documents to transfer or split property. Assists the public with concerns regarding property ownership and acreage and performs other related duties as required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   

  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal or equivalent OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years experience in real property assessment related work or two (2) years of paralegal experience
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Excellent customer service skills required

 

 

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
