Title: Broadcast Specialist

Salary: $18.22 hr

BROADCAST SPECIALIST: Supports the Broadcast Department and Broadcast Infrastructure for The County Channel through videography; both in-studio, council chambers, the Executive Conference Room and other County indoor and outdoor facilities, live or taped in the field. Edits raw video into finished productions for broadcast, will produce and edit a 30 minute monthly television program and may assist in construction of studios, sets and preparing video for streaming on the county website and in the duplication and distribution of DVDs and maintaining a video production library.



  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred in mass communications, television production, broadcast journalism or related field
  • 2 years experience in broadcast television and editing
  • Technical understanding of video production to include photography, lighting, audio, studio development, set design, elementary broadcast engineering, studio directing and tape duplication
  • Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work as a team member
  • Must be able to work outside in extreme conditions
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and extended hours

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
