ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (Communications & Accountability)Position provides basic, accurate information regarding County departments in person, via telephone, and  through email.  As part of the Communications and Accountability team, manages a multi-line telephone system to answer and route all incoming calls on the County's main line to the appropriate office and/or personnel.  Provides professional and courteous service to those seeking information and assistance.  Monitors and replenishes office supplies as needed. Performs other clerical tasks as assigned by the Department Director or designee.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's Degree in business or general studies preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience as a receptionist, front office representative, or similar role, including hands-on experience with multi-line telephone, copier, scanner, and printer
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact tactfully and professionally with a diverse group 
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products (specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment by telephone or in person with courtesy, tact, speed and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive and resourceful with general supervision
  • Knowledge of correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
