911 SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN/Sheriff’s Office: Responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and day-to-day operations support for the Emergency Management Division, which includes the Communications/E911 databases and operating systems. Assists with daily operational functions of the 800 MHz radio programs, the mobile data program and equipment troubleshooting and repairs. Administration of installed operating systems, and installation of new operating systems. Assists in GIS/mapping of E911 addresses. Expected to exercise a great deal of initiative and resourcefulness with minimal supervision.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • AA degree or certification in computer science  
  • Three (3) years experience in hardware and software applications, installation and maintenance
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to distinguish colors, shapes and sizes in order to work with color-coded wiring schematics and details in equipment components
  • Ability to hear clearly in order to work with alarms and other audible components
  • Must have no criminal history. Must qualify for and maintain security clearance from Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office
